Day tour to the Cheow Lan lake

This tour includes an English speaking, TAT licensed tour guide, transport to
and from the lake, lunch on the floating raft houses and drinking water.
We depart from Khao Sok Jasmine Garden at 8:30 a.m. by car or minibus to the
Ratchaprapa Dam at Cheow Lan Lake. Before we reach the lake we stop for 10
minutes at the town of Ta Khun to give you the chance to visit a bank, buy
something at the 7-11 store or at the local market. After we reached the lake
we will go around one and a half hours by long tail boat exploring the awesome
landscape with the unique limestone mountains which rise steep from the
water and have made Cheow Lan Lake famous. You will take a ride between
some of the more than 100 islands formed by the water in 1982 when the dam
was build and the lake was flooded. Before you have lunch on the floating raft
house enjoy the some time just relaxing, swimming or canoeing on the lake.

After lunch we will trek through the jungle to the Namtaloo cave.
This is one of the highlights of Khao Sok and was used as a hideout by the
communist students between 1975 and 1982. The trek takes through lush
jungle, bamboo thickets and across a small river a few times. After roughly one
hour you reach the entrance of Namtaloo cave. In the cave an adventurous
trek is waiting for you including climbing and some times swimming. The guide
will take care of your camera equipment by putting it in to a waterproof bag.
Being back to the raft house you will have delicious fresh fruit and some time
for relaxing, swimming or canoeing again before taking the long tail boat back
to the peer. You will be back in Khao Sok around 07:00 p.m. in the evening.
